You Turn Me Right Round Baby...It's Time To Turn Your Ceiling Fan Around For Summer

Hi there everyone! I hope you've had a great weekend and your week is starting off great. I'd like to take a sec to talk to you about cooling your home this summer. Cooling a home can be expensive, frustrating, and in some cases downright difficult. I live in the South so summers can be blistering and muggy, which they usually are. A ceiling fan can make all the difference in the comfort of your home.

So Which Way Should The Ceiling Fan Blades Be Spinning?

Well, that depends on the season. In the cooler months, you'll want the blades to push the warm air back down to the floor and keep the heat circulating. In the Summer Months, you'll want cool air circulating and warm air drawn away from your sitting or sleeping areas. This can be accomplished by a quick flip of the switch on your ceiling fan that will change the direction of rotation for your fan blades.

For Warm Months The Blades Should Be Turning Counter Clockwise and At a Higher Speed

For Cold Months The Blades Should Be Turning Clockwise At a Low Speed

How Can You Change The Direction Of Your Ceiling Fan Blades?

  1. Turn off your ceiling fan by the switch on the wall or pull chain from the fan itself. Wait for the fan to stop completely before moving on.
  2. Step onto a sturdy step ladder if necessary to reach the fan itself. I have stayed on the ground and used a reacher or tongs to flip the switch if I can reach well enough. Be careful not to strain or use unstable objects to get the job done. Safety first!
  3. Look for a small switch on the fan just above the light globe and flip it up for counterclockwise and down for clockwise.
  4. Adjust the speed according to the season and enjoy a comfortable room.
Have a great day and we'll see you next time! :)
